You Are Stuck and Don’t Know It
02.05.2025

Often, when we go through life and we are stuck, we don’t actually know that we are.
Do you want to know why?
Because realizing you're stuck is the very antidote to becoming unstuck.
Understanding Stuckness
Usually, when we’re stuck, we’re caught up in mental considerations—lots of thinking, and less action. There might be fear. There is anxiety. There is disconnection. There could be boredom or depression as well.
While we’re in it, we think it’s normal. We might sense that we’re going through a tunnel and can’t yet see the light—but we don’t realize it’s just a tunnel.
So yes, you might be stuck… and not even know it.
The Good News
The good news is this: the moment you realize you are stuck, the entanglement is nearly over.
Because recognizing that you’re stuck allows you to prioritize what matters in that moment and begin making decisions that move you forward.
We can be stuck for as long as it takes.
It can last a long time, or just a day.
There are no rules.
If You’re Not Sure
If you're reading this and don’t think you’re necessarily stuck, consider the following:
The veil of disconnection you’re carrying—whether it’s from life, from yourself, or showing up as anxiety, fear, or depression—is not your fault.
Sometimes we get stuck because we play small in order to feel safe.
The feeling of “stuckness” serves a great purpose: when you realize you’re actually stuck, you also realize which direction to move in.
Your truth lies in the opposite direction of where you kept yourself while stuck. It lies in the opposite direction of your fear.
Fear and anxiety are there to warn us—but they’re big, fat liars.
It’s okay to get as stuck as it gets. That’s the antidote. Because when it really gets to you, you finally choose yourself and begin to move.
A Gentle Nudge
So this is a gentle warning: You may be stuck and just don’t know it yet.
Plod along. ‘Enjoy’ the ride. Don’t blame yourself. It’s okay.
Get as stuck as you need to—until you’ve had enough of where you are, and can finally decide to move in a new direction.
